Regional Committees

Join a NAASC Northeast committee to share your experiences and expertise, connect with fellow alumnae and collaborate with your peers on programs and initiatives aimed at advancing NAASC - all while developing skills that will benefit you both personally and professionally.

​NAASC Northeast is looking to recruit volunteers for each of the following committees:  

Bylaws Committee
The Regional Bylaws Committee is responsible for reviewing current regional bylaws, reviewing any submitted amendments, and proposing these amendments.

Finance Committee
The Finance Committee develops a budget for the region and recommends financial policies. 

Membership Committee
The Membership Committee develops strategies and implements activities to increase and engage membership throughout the region in conjunction with Chapter Membership Chairs. 

Technology/Communications Committee
The Technology/Communications Committee is responsible for maintaining the region's social media accounts & website and producing the region newsletter.

Regional Coordinator

The Regional Coordinator acts as presiding officer at regional conferences & called meetings and serves as chair of the Region Executive Committee. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coordinating the activities of the region, representing the region at National Executive Committee meetings of the Association, establishing new chapters in the region when and where feasible, ensuring chapters are in compliance, and providing communication with the region.

Regional Delegates (2 Positions)

Regional Delegates represent the region at National Executive Committee meetings of the Association, facilitate information exchange between chapters, and assist in ensuring chapters are in compliance.

Regional Secretary

The Regional Secretary takes and keeps the minutes of each meeting and makes copies available. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to sending correspondence as delegated, scheduling meetings, and maintaining an up-to-date directory of the Region Executive Committee, chapter officers and region alumnae. 

Regional Treasurer

The Regional Treasurer provides general oversight to the management of all region funds. Responsibilities include but are not limited to proposing a budget with recommendations for adoption by the Region Executive Committee, making financial reports, keeping an accurate account of receipts and disbursements, and presenting a Treasurer's Report at the biennial regional meeting.

Regional Nominating Committee (3 Positions)

The Nominating Committee is responsible for selecting a slate of officers and empowered for function for two years. No member of the nominating committee can be nominated for office while serving on this committee.

ELIGIBILITY

To be eligible to serve as a regional officer, a candidate must have been a financial member of NAASC for two consecutive years immediately before this current year and must have served as a member of a chapter in the Northeast Region during that time.
